Elsie G. Mundt

Elsie Gloria Mundt, age 98, of Charleston, formerly of Paris and Bloomington, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Villas of Holly Brook in Charleston, IL. She was born May 26, 1925 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Emil and Margaret (Nickel) Kapchinski. Elsie married Robert Mundt on May 22, 1948 in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2001.

Elsie is survived by her four children, Thomas Mundt (Karen) of Liberty, MO, Barbara Brooks (Scott) of Charleston, IL, Eric Mundt (Debra) of Gualala, CA, and James Mundt of Austin, TX, ten grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Elsie worked as a bookkeeper at Illinois State University in Normal, IL. She enjoyed volunteering at Grace Lutheran Child Development Center in Paris, IL and Immanuel Lutheran Early Childcare Center in Charleston, IL. Over the years, she loved traveling to spend time with her family and grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston with Pastor Ken Hoover officiating. Burial will be private at a later date in Hoult Cemetery in Chrisman, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.to 6:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Preschool, 902 Cleveland Ave., Charleston, IL 61920
